Notes on the natural history of the Brenton Blue, Orachrysops niobe (Trimen) (Lepidoptera: Lycaenidae)

Abstract :

The life history and ecology of the habitat of Orachrysops niobe (Trimen) (Lepidoptera: Lycaenidae) is described.  The distribution of the genus, and its position in the tribe Polyomattini is discussed in the light of this new information.  Proposals are made for saving the last known O. niobe colony from extinction.
