Title :
Abstract : This paper reviews lepidopteran oviposition science and descibes the many specific plant and environmental cues that female butterflies and moths seek prior to oviposition. Single oviposition observations are looked upon as an inconclusive method of determining larval host plants (LHP)s. Repeat oviposition and larval feeding observations are therefore presented that provide conclusive evidence for 28 new LHPs for butterfly species from Mpumalanga and Limpopo Provinces, South Africa.
